About Ros

Ros Salvador (pronouns they/them) is a lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and a human rights and workplace investigator. Ros has over a decade of experience practicing human rights and social justice law with a focus on advancing institutional change, and several more years doing policy, training and other work in support of human rights.

Ros has worked at the Ontario Human Rights Legal Support Centre, the Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition, the BC Human Rights Commission, the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and the BC Public Interest Advocacy Centre.

Ros has a special passion for justice in the education system. In addition to representing individuals in school-related matters, Ros has worked for school boards providing human rights guidance to school leaders; conducting impartial investigations; supporting parents, students and staff with human rights concerns; developing policy and procedure; and delivering a wide variety of human rights and equity training. Within the education setting, Ros has been a leader in the areas of racism/anti-Black racism, gender identity, and disability accommodation.

Ros is a Black sole parent who is also a member of the 2SLGBTQI+ community (queer, non-binary,  transgender spectrum, AFAB), and has lived with a severe environmental illness. Infused by their lived experience and their work as a legal professional, Ros has a depth of compassion and integrity, and an advanced and nuanced understanding of discrimination.
